The win moves Collingwood up to 12th place in the Senior Rankings, and edges Jennings closer to Lee Evans at the top. The winner took the first prize from an entry of 62 players.

Collingwood’s path to the final was a young looking one, as he beat no fewer than five juniors to reach the final, and another in the final. In the first round he beat Steve Dunn of Swindon in a decider, and followed that with another final frame win over Peter Maraziotis. A 3-0 win over Chris Bone of Basingstoke saw him into the quarters where he defeated Swindon Open runner-up David Carroll by 3 frames to 1. Last season’s Under 15s Champion Adam Guyatt was beaten 3-1 in the semis, and then followed his 3-1 final win over Jennings.

Jennings won two deciders, against Liam Tinne and Mike Finn, on his way to the final. He also made short work of High Wycombe’s Nick Birney, and Swindon’s Craig Hollick and David Sheeran. This was his second final of the season already, having won the Poole Open, and he also made the semi-finals at the Swindon Masters.

In the Plate, Pascal Richard (£35) from Gosport triumphed over James Bain (£17) of Swindon 2-1 in the final. Richard beat Josh Fryer, Andrew Nagalewski, Mark Green and John Smith on his way to the final.
