D-Day for Championship Tour

NUMBER one seed Matt Wilson faces Zack Richardson (Moulsecoomb Social Club, Brighton) in the last-16 of the play-off for the title of Cuestars South of England Champion.

Wilson (Liberal Club, High Wycombe), who led the rankings after the eight-tournament series, is chasing a £420 prize pot and a date with Welsh wizard Matthew Stevens.
 
Stevens, the world No 25, will be guest-of-honour at this season’s Cuestars Finals Day at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon, on Sunday, June 6.
 
Second seed Neil Craycraft (147 SC, Swindon) meets Christian Chislett (Selsey RBL while third seed Ryan Mears (Sovereign SC, Farnborough) must overcome ex-professional Richard Somauroo to reach the quarter-finals.
 
Southampton’s former Town Champion Alex Dunkley (Stubbington SC), who finished fourth, crosses cues with Drew Farminer, captain of Southampton’s Super League champions Woolston Conservative Club A.
 
In a local derby clash, Seb Worrell (Swindon SC) plays Lewis Miles (Jesters SC, Swindon. Phil Wildman (147 SC, Swindon) is up against two-time Pontin’s under-12 champion Shane Castle (Chandler’s Ford SC).
 
Event-eight winner Richard Clark (Swindon SC) has drawn the ‘Mighty Finn’ Mike Finn (Woolston Cons). And Adam Nash, a third Woolston Cons player in the top-16, takes on Alex O’Donoghue (147 SC, Swindon), who finished one place above him in eighth.
 
Cuestars director John Hunter reminds all players appearing in the finals day that the dress code is smart - trousers, collared shirt and shoes. No jeans, t-shirts or trainers.
