CUESTARS has unveiled its exciting new format for the 2010/11 season. Director John Hunter announced this week that current members can renew for just £5 before the end of August. Then, full membership reverts to £10. The calendar will be available at the beginning of September. SOUTH OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR Open to all Cuestars members, the Championship Tour consists of eight round-robin ranking tournaments with cash prizes. The top 16 ranked players qualify for the end-of-season play-off for the title of Cuestars South of England Champion. Entry fee per event is £15, of which £1 is set aside for the play-off prize fund. UNDER-21 GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE TOURS The Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours will again consist of eight round-robin ranking tournaments for trophies. The top eight ranked players from each group will qualify for the end-of-season play-off to find the U21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Champions. The Gold Champion will receive a John Parris cue and case. All champions will collect a trophy and take on a top professional at the Cuestars Play-offs and Presentation Day. Entry fee per event is £8. WEEKEND JUNIOR SECTION RANKINGS The Weekend Junior Section Rankings consist of eight knockout tournaments with a plate competition. Gold players play off scratch, Silver off 14 and Bronze off 28. The top ranked player receives £100 sponsorship and a frame with a top professional at the Cuestars Play-Offs and Presentation Day. SENIOR TOUR Members aged 40 and over can compete in four round-robin ranking tournaments for cash prizes. The top eight ranked players qualify for the end-of-season play-off to find the Cuestars Senior Champion. Entry fee per event is £15, of which £1 is set aside for the play-off prize fund. UNDER-21 THREE-PLAYER TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP New for this season is an Under-21 Three-player Team Championship. The handicapped event will use a straight knockout and plate format. Gold players play off scratch, Silver off 14 and Bronze off 28. Trophies will be awarded. Entry fee is £15 per team. UNDER-21 DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP Another brand new event is the Under-21 Doubles Championship. This will also use a straight knockout and plate format with handicaps. Gold players play off scratch, Silver off 14 and Bronze off 28. Trophies will be awarded. Entry fee is £12 per team. UNDER-21 SIX-REDS CHAMPIONSHIP A third new event is the Under-21 Six-Reds Championship. This will also use a straight knockout and plate format with handicaps. Gold players play off scratch, Silver off seven and Bronze off 14. Trophies will be awarded. Entry fee is £8. CUESTARS PLAY-OFFS AND PRESENTATION DAY A top professional will present prizes and play competition winners at the Cuestars Play-Offs and Presentation Day. Last season it was Welsh wizard Matthew Stevens. There will be five play-offs: Championship Tour, Senior Tour, and Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours.
