BILLY Castle (pictured) and Ben Harrison have outside chances of making the European Under-19 Championship in Malta.
Tenth-placed Harrison (Player’s, Westbury) is the highest ranked Cuestars member on the elite English Association of Snooker & Billiards (EASB) Premier Junior Tour.
Castle (Cue T’s, Marchwood) is 12th and his 11-year-old cousin Shane Castle (Chandler’s Ford SC) is 31st.
Fifth place should be enough to earn a ticket to the Mediterranean in March. The European under-19 champion joins Ronnie O’Sullivan on the pro-circuit.
The EASB will probably nominate their selections after event five, which is in Romford on January 16-17.
All three Cuestars members were drawn in the same group in event four at Woking.
In his second season on the tour for England’s top-48 under-21s, Billy Castle, 17, made the quarter-finals for the first time.
After topping the round-robin five-man group with an undefeated record, the England international accounted for Harrison, the EASB 2008 national under-19 finalist, 4-3 in the last 16. He also beat Harrison, 18, in the groups.
A 4-0 defeat by Kyren Wilson in the last eight flattered the Kettering potter. The first frame went to the black. And in the fourth, Castle made a 55 only for Wilson to clear with a 46.
